- Microsoft pricing & packaging effective 1 July 2026 (announced Dec 2025): Office 365 E3 $23โ$26 (+13%), Microsoft 365 E3 $36โ$39 (+8%), Microsoft 365 E5 $57โ$60 (+5%). Frontline (F1) up to +33%. Office 365 E1 unchanged. The $13 bundle delta between O365 E3 and M365 E3 is unchanged ($26 โ $39).
- New capabilities now bundled in both O365 E3 and M365 E3 (no extra charge from 1 Jul 2026): Defender for Office 365 Plan 1 (anti-phish, Safe Links, Safe Attachments โ was a separate ~$2 add-on), and Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat with Agent Mode in Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/OneNote. These narrow the M365 E3 vs O365 E3 differentiation slightly, but the EMS E3 (identity/MDM/MDE-P1/AIP), Windows 11 Enterprise, Intune Remote Help and Advanced Analytics gap remains.
- What M365 E3 still adds over O365 E3 from 1 Jul 2026: Windows 11 Enterprise per-user CAL, Enterprise Mobility + Security E3 (Entra ID P1, Microsoft Intune incl. Remote Help & Advanced Analytics, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Plan 1, Azure Information Protection P1, Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps Discovery).
- Effective price impact for many enterprises is higher than the headline 8โ13%: Microsoft also removed large-volume Enterprise Agreement discounts (effective Nov 2025), so realised increases often land in the 15โ23% range. Use the Microsoft discount field to model your post-Nov-2025 EA rate.
- Microsoft list prices used (Jul 2026): Office 365 E3 $26.00, Microsoft 365 E3 $39.00, Windows 11 Enterprise E3 $7.00, EMS E3 $10.60, Entra ID P1 $6.00, Intune Plan 1 $8.00, Defender for Endpoint P1 $3.00, AIP P1 $2.00.
- 3rd-party vendors are sourced from the latest Gartner Magic Quadrants for each market: Access Management 2024, Unified Endpoint Management Tools 2024, Endpoint Protection Platforms 2025. Position labels in dropdowns: L=Leader, C=Challenger, V=Visionary, NP=Niche Player.
- Windows 11 Enterprise is only sold by Microsoft. Customers on OEM Windows 11 Pro can technically skip it, but lose Enterprise-only features (Credential Guard, App Control for Business, Windows Autopatch, LTSC eligibility, etc.). Toggle off to model that scenario.
- Excludes one-time migration, integration, training, and ELA true-up costs โ typically $15โ$40 per user when introducing 2+ new vendors.
